President Obama, may I ask a favor of you? Please stop talking so much and start working a little harder, because 9 out of the last 10 times you have decided to speak, the market has dropped after your words. I hate to say it, but I don't see this guy getting us out of this crap anytime soon, maybe thats why he keeps asking for patience. America looks at Obama too much like a celebrity, instead of the President. I've heard him say so many things he plans on doing and how change has come to America. Is he referring to a change by leading us into a depression? OK, a little exaggeration, but overall I think Americans need to help Obama just as much as he needs to help himself by getting their shit together and putting the pressure on this guy. Sure it's a great story that he was elected, but now that he's President, let's make some things happen. I get we have to be patient, but for how long? How long do we have to wait President Obama, can you give me a number please? I'll tell you one thing, I'd definitely rather hang out with W.
A-Hole, I mean A-Rod, congrats on admitting to taking steroids. Look, I'm really sick of this steroid bullshit in baseball. All those idiots take some kind of "performance enhancing drug" and Bud Selig needs to accept the fact that he's a shitty commissioner and because of his ease of policy, players have been able to take and access these drugs, more easily. Personally, I don't care if they take steroids, baseball's in the bottom tier of the 4 major sports. Is it tarnished? I don't know and I don't really care. This steroid thing is way outdated and it needs to stop. Let's just let go of it, move on, and replace Bud Selig with George W. Bush, ya dig?
Did anyone else realize you heard more Go Green, Go White chants yesterday? Dude, we were playing at Crisler (Breslin East) and still outdid the Maze Rage (hahaha, losers!). Izzo had his troops ready and they locked down UofM really only letting Deshawn Sims be productive. Walton's lockdown D held Manny Harris in check forcing him to throw up prayers. This was a huge win for MSU and gives us a solid chance for our first Big Ten Title sine 2001, please believe!!!!!! State's got a week off so hopefully everyone gets healthy, especially Raymar, because we go into Mackey Arena and play Purdue next Tuesday. Hey scUM, JUST LIKE FOOTBALL!

excerpt from simmons take on lbj and kobe's games last week:
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine, a lifelong Knicks season ticket-holder since the Bradley era, e-mailed me afterward: "That was the worst night maybe of my life in the Garden. How horrible it must be to play with Kobe. He was signaling constantly to his teammates to get him the ball. THREE ASSISTS AND NO REBOUNDS. Talk about a team guy." Another New York buddy was so distraught that Bernard's 60-point Garden record fell so ignominiously—with Kobe's padding his stats against a reprehensibly bad defense as a shocking number of fans chanted "MVP!"—that he e-mailed me the next day: "I literally didn't sleep last night." A third friend was there and swore that Kobe eyeballed Trevor Ariza after Trev made the mistake of swishing a 24-footer in the fourth. And yet, the national reaction seemed to be, "Wow! Kobe scores 61! He's unbelievable!" Spike Lee even called it "genius." (Move over, Einstein and Mozart.)
Really, it was the defining Kobe game. He elicited every reaction possible from lovers, haters and everyone in between. When LeBron arrived in New York two days later and notched his amazing 52/9/11, he didn't break Kobe's new record but definitely cheapened it. LeBron's 52 came in the flow of the offense. When the Knicks doubled him, he found the open man. When they singled him, he scored. He dominated every facet of the game. It was a complete performance, basketball at its finest, everything we ever wanted from King James. And it happened 48 hours after Kobe's big game … in the same building. Crazy.
I've been comparing those two games ever since. Never has basketball seemed more simple to me: I would rather watch a 52/9/11 than a 61/0/3. I would. It's really that simple. It's a matter of preference. So don't call me a Kobe hater, call me a basketball lover.
And if Kobe ever put up a 52/9/11, yes, I would love him, too.
If you're truly a basketball lover, then you must have loved it when kobe dropped 81 points (shooting 61%), 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, and 3 steals. If you didn't then you are a Kobe hater.
ReplyDeleteInteresting comments guys, I look to have another post with my thoughts on comparing the greats and can't wait to read your comments.
